Rehearsing and Performing with King's Town Players
King's Town Players has welcomed dozens of performers to the stage since 2010, and we continue to do so. Auditioning is the first step, but what happens if you get cast? You suddenly become very involved with KTP.
A typical rehearsal period will be for the period of six weeks prior to the opening of the show. The following is an example of a typical rehearsal schedule. This is not specific to any one show.
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday - 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Sunday - 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Sunday - 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Depending on the show, not all performers will be required for every rehearsal and our directors will do their best to advise you which rehearsals you may not need to attend. Time off during the rehearsal period is at the discretion of the director.
The Run (Week 7-9)
Sunday - call time 3:00 pm for actors to participate in tech run, cue to cue, 6:00 pm for 7:00 pm rehearsal
Monday, Tuesday - call time 6:30 pm for 7:30 pm rehearsal
Wednesday - call time 6:30 pm for 7:30 pm dress rehearsal
Thursday, Friday, Saturday - call time 6:30 pm for 7:30 pm curtain. Total of 9 performances.
Saturday matinee performances - call time 12:30 pm for 1:30 pm curtain.
There are no typically no daytime rehearsals or performances from Monday to Saturday, although rehearsals may be scheduled depending on availability of the cast and crew. As the company and all of our productions are run by volunteers, all rehearsals and performances take place in the evenings, with the exception of some Sunday afternoon rehearsals and possible Saturday matinees.
Performing with the King's Town Players is a major 8-10 week commitment. If you can’t be available for the full rehearsal and performance schedule, you should not audition. With this in mind we encourage ALL to volunteer and become part of the King's Town Players team.
